Diagnosis is not required. If your child is struggling, we're here to help.

Anxiety

When worry feels overwhelming

We teach children that anxiety isn't their enemy—it's their brain trying to protect them. Through gentle exploration, we help them recognise anxiety triggers, understand their body's warning signals, and develop coping strategies that actually work. We also work closely with parents to create a home environment that reduces anxiety whilst building resilience.

Challenging Behaviour

Understanding the 'why' behind challenging behaviour

We use Emotion Coaching and Restorative Approach to help children understand the emotions behind their actions. Rather than punishment, we focus on teaching emotional regulation, problem-solving, and repairing relationships. We empower parents with strategies that address the root cause, creating lasting change rather than temporary compliance.

Anti-Bullying Support

For children being bullied and those who bully others

For children being bullied, we focus on rebuilding confidence, developing assertiveness skills, and processing the emotional impact. For children who may be bullying others, we explore the underlying emotions driving their behaviour and teach empathy, self-regulation and healthier ways to connect. We also work with schools to implement peer mediation and restorative approaches.

Low Self-Esteem

When 'good enough' never feels good enough

Building Self-Belief & Confidence Many children struggle with a harsh inner critic, feeling like they are "bad" or "not good enough" when things go wrong. We help your child quiet that negative voice and replace it with self-compassion. By discovering their unique strengths and learning to value who they are—not just what they achieve—we help them walk through the world with their head held high.

Supporting children who learn differently

We help children understand that mistakes are part of learning, not evidence of failure. Through gentle reframing and practical strategies, we teach them to set realistic expectations, manage performance anxiety, and develop self-compassion. We work alongside families and schools to identify barriers and implement strategies that help children thrive academically and emotionally.

ADHD

Supporting children with attention and regulation challenges

As someone with ADHD myself, I understand these challenges from the inside. We use neurodiversity strategies—like movement breaks, visual supports, and body doubling—to help children work with their ADHD brain. We focus on building executive functioning skills, emotional regulation, and self-advocacy. We also guide parents through accessing assessments and medication reviews when appropriate.

Autism Spectrum

Understanding and supporting autistic children

We never aim to "fix" autism—we aim to understand it. Using neurodiversity-affirming strategies, we help children recognise their strengths, understand their needs, and communicate them effectively. We adapt our approach to each child's communication style, sensory profile, and interests. We also support parents in accessing diagnostic assessments and school provisions.

Trauma and Attachment

Healing from difficult experiences

Trauma affects the nervous system before it affects behaviour. Using Polyvagal Theory and attachment-based strategies, we help children feel safe again. We never push children to "talk about" trauma before they're ready. Instead, we build safety through play, routine, and co-regulation. We work closely with parents to understand how trauma shows up in behaviour and provide strategies for creating a secure, predictable home environment.

Note: For complex cases, your child might be referred to CAMHS or other specialists.

No diagnosis required

You don't need a formal diagnosis for your child to access our support. If your child is struggling—whether with emotions, behaviour, friendships, or confidence—we're here to help. Many of the children we work with come to us before any assessment or diagnosis. Sometimes they're later identified as neurodivergent, but other times they're simply navigating normal developmental challenges compounded by life circumstances. What matters is that your child gets the support they need, when they need it.

Tailoring Support to the Child

Every child's brain develops uniquely. Neuroscience shows us that pathways for sensory processing, emotional regulation and learning form differently in each child (Siegel, 2020).

So if we accept that every brain is different, why should our strategies for support look the same?

At The Feelings Teacher, we integrate neurodiversity strategies into all our work—whether a child has a diagnosis or not. Because adaptation isn't about labels; it's about understanding.

If a child struggles with routines, we introduce visual timetables.
If a child fidgets in class, we offer sensory tools.v
If a child becomes overwhelmed, we teach co-regulation strategies.

These adjustments don't require a diagnosis—they require awareness and flexibility.

My dream...

My mission is to reach the families often left in the quiet space between "coping" and "crisis." Too many children drift through this gap because they don't meet the strict criteria for traditional support. My dream is to close that gap. By working hand-in-hand with schools, CAMHS, and social care, I aim to build a true "team around the child"—providing joined-up support that repairs relationships and builds resilience early on. Because no child should have to struggle alone to be seen, understood, and safe.
