Description
Hello there, I’m Inês. We all know that helping our little ones navigate their big emotions can sometimes feel like a daunting task. It is completely normal to feel overwhelmed when your child is struggling to communicate what is going on inside.
That is exactly why I’ve created The Feelings Cube – a simple, hands-on tool designed to make talking about emotions feel like playtime rather than a challenge.
What is it for?
-
Giving Feelings a Name: It provides a visual, interactive way for children to identify six core emotions: happy, sad, angry, excited, scared, and worried.
-
Making Communication Fun: By turning emotional check-ins into a game, it removes the pressure and makes children far more willing to share.
-
Creating a Calmer Environment: When children can show you how they feel, frustration drops, leading to much smoother days at home and in the classroom.
-
Ready-to-Use Play: It comes packed with brilliant, easy-to-follow activities, from ‘Mirror Play’ to ‘Story Time Feelings’, so you know exactly how to use it.
Who is it for?
-
Parents & Carers: If you are looking for simple, practical ways to connect with your child and make parenting just a little bit easier, this is for you.
-
Schools & Early Years Professionals: A fantastic, engaging resource to add to your calming corners or circle time activities to support emotional regulation in the classroom.
-
Children aged 2 to 5 years old: The download includes specifically tailored activities:
-
For 2-3 Year Olds: Short, visual, and highly play-based activities (like matching games and action movements).
-
For 4-5 Year Olds: Activities that encourage conversation, simple role-play, and early problem-solving.
-
To get started, you simply download the file, cut around the shape, fold along the lines, and glue the tabs to create your cube. Please note: this resource is provided free of charge for personal use only.
